Position Summary:
The Educational Psychologist is responsible for providing professional expertise in the field of educational psychology to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs. This role involves conducting assessments, providing interventions, and collaborating with educational professionals to address the diverse needs of students. The Educational Psychologist will contribute to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments that promote optimal educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
2. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and implement appropriate interventions.
3. Provide evidence-based interventions, counseling, and support services to students, aiming to enhance their emotional well-being and academic achievement.
4. Assist in designing and delivering training sessions for educators and parents on topics related to child development, learning strategies, and behavior management.
5. Conduct research and stay updated with the latest developments in educational psychology, contributing to evidence-based practices and program enhancements.
6. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
7. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of interventions and programs, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, special education personnel, and other professionals, to develop and implement inclusive educational practices.
9. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and school-wide initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
10. Adhere to professional ethical standards and guidelines in all aspects of practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Master's or doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
2. Valid license or certification as an Educational Psychologist.
3. Extensive knowledge of psychological theories and principles related to child development, learning, and behavior.
4. Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and interpreting assessment results.
5. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and IEP processes.
6. Ability to design and implement evidence-based interventions and support services to address students' educational and emotional needs.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, educators, and other professionals.
8. Proficient in using assessment tools, data analysis software, and educational technology.
9. Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of current research and best practices in educational psychology.
